Stuart Hamblen

Stuart Hamblen and his band, the Covered Wagon Jubilee, made the first "C&W" record Decca ever released ("Texas Plains," Stuart's own composition, recorded in August, 1934).

Some of his best-known compositions include "This Ole House," "It is No Secret," "My Mary," "(Remember Me) I'm the One Who Loves You," "Don't Fool Around with Calico, When You Have Silk at Home," and "Blue Bonnets for Her Golden Hair." Many of Stuart's most successful compositions were written about his wife, "Suzy."
