The Sons of the San Joaquin are one of the top vocal groups in the history of Western Music. Following in the footsteps of the Sons of the Pioneers, the Sons of the San Joaquin, comprised of brothers Jack and Joe Hanna and Joe’s son Lon, developed a repertoire of songs with family harmonies that defined a branch of Western Music at the end of the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries.

The Sons of the San Joaquin recorded with Michael Martin Murphey on that singer’s initial album of cowboy songs on Warner Brothers. This led to the group obtaining a recording contract with Warner Western where they released five albums and launched their professional careers. Later they joined Western Jubilee, headed by Scott O’Malley in Colorado Springs.

The Sons of the San Joaquin were favorites on the Western circuit for over a decade, Their tight harmonies, Jack’s songwriting and their accessibility endured them to fans of Western Music all over the United States.
