Kacey and Jenna Thunborg, 14-year old twins from Lemitar, New Mexico, have been performing in front of audiences since they were eight years old.  Jenna is the main vocalist (and yodeler) for the duo while Kacey provides harmonies and instrument accompaniment (guitar, trumpet, and ukulele.) Kacey has recently ventured into songwriting. The twins released their first C.D. in September 2019 entitled "Simply Western."

Kacey and Jenna got their start in classic western music through award-winning instrumentalist, Mariam Funke. For the past six years, they have studied under Mariam’s guidance and mentoring.

The International Western Music Association (IWMA) awarded Kacey and Jenna a top five nominee spot for the 2018 Liz Masterson Crescendo award. They were awarded by the IWMA the 2017 “Youth Harmony Duo of the Year.” Jenna was selected as a top three finalist at the 2017 “Socorro Sings” competition.

In 2018 and 2017, the girls performed at the “Albuquerque Summertime Concert Series: Western Youth Day.” In addition, they have performed at the 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015 “International Western Music Association Youth Showcase” at the IWMA Conference.  Other performance venues have included musical concerts, private parties, local restaurants, churches, open mics (lots of open mics), community band and school events.

Kacey and Jenna have been fortunate to perform with “The Cowboy Way,” the 2018 IWMA Group of the Year, and Doug Figgs, the 2018 IWMA Male Performer of the Year. In 2018 and again in 2019, the girls were invited performers at both the Arizona Folk Preserve and the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering.  The duo performed at the 2019 Cimarron Cowboy Music & Poetry Gathering.

When not performing their classic western music, the twins have sung the National Anthem for the Albuquerque Isotopes baseball team, New Mexico State Fair Stock Show, Socorro County Rodeo, the University of New Mexico basketball, soccer and softball teams, and at a Presbyterian Hospital Hospice event.

The girls live on a working farm helping to tend to the family livestock and farm chores. They are members of their local 4-H Chapter and the IWMA Youth Chapter where Jenna currently serves as Vice-President. Kacey is a volunteer with “Bugles Across America.” The duo are members of the Cowtown Opry Buckaroos.

Kacey and Jenna can't wait to see what the future brings as their musical journey continues.
