Aspen Black

Aspen Black is a singer/songwriter, cowgirl poet, multi-instrumentalist, educator, and award-winning horsewoman. Fans describe her voice as “mesmerizing”, and her songwriting and poetry as “outstanding” and “spot-on”.  Aspen’s CD, “Lovin’ the West” won the 2017 Rural Roots Music Commission’s Classic Western CD of the Year and her “Eastern Western Cowgirl” CD won the 2015 Rural Roots Music Commission Female Country-Western CD of the Year. She is a finalist in two categories of the Just Plain Folks Music Awards, a 2015, 2016, and 2017 Top-Five finalist for WMA Female Poet of the Year, a 2016 and 2015 Top-Five finalist for WMA Cowboy Poetry CD of the Year, a 2016 Top-Five finalist for WMA Poetry Book of the Year, and overall winner of the “Country Singer” contest at the 2016 National Traditional Country Music Association Festival.  Aspen tours nationally, giving concerts, workshops, and interactive programs for children and adults.
