Rodeo Kate comes from a horse raising tradition in Idaho and Utah. She was Instrumentalist of the Year in 2006 for the Western Music Association, and is a past member of The Texas Trailhands, The Daughters of the Purple Sage, and KG & The Ranger.
Allan is a three time Grammy nominee – with songwriting credits for performers like Kenny Rogers, The Oak Ridge Boys, George Jones, and Diana Ross. He was a finalist in 2009 for WMA Song Of The year –“These Cowboy Boots”, a finalist in 2011 for the WMA & The AWM Song Of The Year - “Smoke Of The Branding Fire”, a finalist for Western Album of the Year (98th Meridian), a finalist for WMA Songwriter of the Year, and a finalist in 2013 for WMA Song of the Year - “The King Of Texico”.
In 2016 Allan’s song, “Watchman” took 3rd place in the international Woody Guthrie WoodyFest Song Contest. Allan and Rodeo Kate’s 2016 joint CD, Under Blue Skies has been recognized internationally. Together Allan and Rodeo Kate live in rural Wise County Texas where they continue a ranching tradition in Wise and Clay counties.
